Malta is the place to enjoy great vibes, wherever you are! Every town on the island has its own atmosphere. You’ll find squares with music and people having drinks. Whether you’re after nightlife or a quiet spot, Malta has it all. When you're in Malta for a few days, you probably don’t want to spend time searching for food or drinks. How nice would it be to not worry about that? I’ve selected some restaurants and bars that I personally enjoyed the most. These places made my time in Malta special.
AKI, Valletta
We spent our first evening in Valletta, a great city to start your trip. There were so many restaurants, we didn’t know where to begin.
Eventually, we wandered down a small alley and found a restaurant. At first, we thought, “Sitting indoors? No way!” But inside, there was a woman playing the trumpet and a DJ. The vibe drew us in, so we decided to go inside.
It’s a sushi restaurant, and the food was excellent—perfect since we love sushi! The prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed good wine. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere with the live trumpet and DJ made the night even better. If you’re in Valletta and craving sushi, this place is a must!
Food: 8, really good.
Price: €€€, reasonable for sushi.
Atmosphere: 8, nice vibe.

LOA, St. Paul’s Bay
If you enjoy trumpet music and a nice atmosphere, LOA is a good choice. I didn’t know it had a similar vibe to AKI, but it was great.
The restaurant offers a taxi service, picking you up from your hotel and dropping you back off. We got picked up but chose to walk back. The terrace by the sea was nice, and the seating was comfortable. The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent.
Food: 8.5, very good.
Price: €€€, fair for the quality.
Atmosphere: 9, great location.

Singita Miracle Beach, Mgarr
This was my favorite spot. If you want a beach day, Miracle Beach is the place. Want to know why? Read more...
There’s a beach café where you can get takeaway or eat there. I had both lunch and dinner, and both were great. I found this place on my last day, which was a shame because I would’ve gone more often! Singita offers good meals, drinks, and live music while you watch the sunset. A perfect spot for a day at the beach.
Food: 9, really good. TIP: Try the iced coffee!
Price: €€, good value.
Atmosphere: 9, nice setting.

Osteria Donna Carmela, St. Julian’s
Osteria Donna Carmela is an Italian restaurant in Malta where you can enjoy Sicilian dishes. It’s a good spot for pasta, antipasti, and wine. The restaurant has a homey feel, perfect for a casual meal with friends or a dinner for two. What’s nice is that you can sit on the balcony and see the bay at St. Julian’s. Downstairs feels like a hotel lobby, but once you take the elevator up, the view is great.
Food: 8, try the Fettuccine Gamberetti e Pistacchio!
Price: €€€€, a bit pricey, but worth it.
Atmosphere: 7.5, great on the balcony!
